MB Daily News Update: Fewer Filipinos consider themselves poor

The number of Filipinos who consider themselves as poor has gone down to 10.7 million in the last quarter of 2021, compared to the 11.4 million households who considered themselves poor in September 2021. This was according to a non-commissioned survey of the Social Weather Stations (SWS).

The OCTA Research Group noted the decline in Covid-19 infections in Metro Manila has slowed down, but the region remained at low risk from the virus.

In the continuing mystery over the case of the missing “sabungeros”, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) of the Philippine National Police (PNP) has filed kidnapping and illegal detention charges against eight suspects.
