BI expects 12,000 passenger arrivals daily

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) said passenger arrivals will substantially increase this "summer" season up to 12,000 daily.

BI Commissioner Jaime Morente noted that when the government loosened travel restriction arrivals have been steadily rising from 6,000 to more than 10,000 daily.

"More foreign nationals will definitely visit the country's tourist spots to enjoy the tropical weather," the BI added.

BI port operations chief Carlos Capulong said personnel in all international ports are prepared and ready to service the increasing number of arrivals.

He said electronic gates are fully operational to reduce processing time of documents of arriving Filipinos.
