As the wedding of Korean star couple Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin nears, it has been revealed that actor Jang Dong-gun will have an important part in the ceremony.
Jang Dong-gun will deliver a congratulatory speech for Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin at the wedding, according to an exclusive report by Korean media outlet Sports Donga on March 21.
The 50-year-old star of the dramas “Arthdal Chronicles” and “A Gentleman's Dignity” is Hyun Bin’s best friend. The two have been friends for 17 years and share hobbies such as golf and baseball. Jang Dong-gun is also close to Son Ye-jin, the report added.
In addition, Park Ji-eun, who wrote “Crash Landing on You,” which starred Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin, has been invited to the wedding.
The report added that close friends of the couple in the entertainment industry are expected to attend.
After the report came out, VAST Entertainment, Hyun Bin’s agency, did not confirm nor deny the report but only said, "It is difficult to confirm. We ask for your understanding." Son Ye-jin’s agency, MS Team Entertainment, also did not confirm the details.
Meanwhile, Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin officially announced that they were dating on January 1, last year. After a year or so, they announced their marriage in January of this year.
On Feb. 10, Son Ye-jin and Hyun Bin, who starred in the hit drama “Crash Landing on You,” announced that they would get married in March in a private event in Seoul. They publicly admitted their relationship on Jan. 1, 2021 after a media outlet ran an exclusive story with photos of the two on a date.
Last month, a close friend of Son Ye-jin’s mother spilled the details about the wedding. In an exclusive report by Woman Chosun, the close friend said Son Ye-jin and Hyun Bin will get married at the end of March at the Grand Walkerhill Seoul hotel.
The report added that the couple will have an outdoor wedding at the hotel’s Aston House, which “emanates the classical atmosphere of a 17th century British royal mansion,” according to the hotel website.
Aston House, with an area of 1,421 sq.m., became the venue for the parties and product launches of luxury brands like Cartier, Bulgari, BMW, Christian Dior and Chanel.
It has an outdoor garden with a view of the Han River and Mount Acha, which “has become the epitome of private estate weddings or premier party place for celebrities.”
