Creamline and Petro Gazz seek their respective second wins when they battle separate foes Monday in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at the Paco Arena in Manila.
The Cool Smashers tangle with the BaliPure Water Defenders at 6 p.m. after the Angels square off with the PLDT Home Fibr Power Hitters at 3 p.m.
Both Creamline and Petro Gazz are coming off a hot start to lead Pool B, with the Cool Smashers downing the Power Hitters, 25-16, 25-18, 25-22, and the Angels beating the Water Defenders, 25-14, 25-20, 23-25, 25-21, last Thursday.
The trio of Alyssa Valdez, Tots Carlos and Jema Galanza are expected to reinforce Creamline’s offense after combining for 39 points the last time, while defense will come from Jeanette Panaga.
But BaliPure refused to get intimidated this early, using its first defeat as a lesson learned.
Challenging Creamline’s defense will be spikers Geneveve Casugod and Janine Marciano, who finished with 19 and 11 points in their last match.
In the other pairing, Petro Gazz guns for another all-around game after delivering impressive numbers that include 51 attacks, 12 blocks and 10 aces.
Grethcel Soltones and Remy Palma are expected to banner the Angels at the attack line, while defense will come from Myla Pablo and MJ Phillips.
PLDT, for its part, needed to find its chemistry after making only 22 kills in its last match. No one from the team also scored in double figures with Dell Palomata managing only nine points.
