Cagayan Valley cops intensify campaign to ensure public safety this summer


TUGUEGARAO CITY – Police Regional Office 2 Regional Director Brigadier General Steve B. Ludan on Friday directed all PNP Unit Commanders in Cagayan Valley to intensify their campaign against all forms of criminality and strengthen police presence.

To realize these, the police general has ordered the establishment of motorist/s assistance hub, conduct of security measures in different tourist destinations and ocular inspection on vital installations in the region in order to ensure public safety this summer vacation.

Their focus is the conduct of foot/mobile patrols, checkpoints and the establishment of Police Assistance Desks/Tourist Police places of public convergence, assemblies and conferences to stop the criminal elements from taking advantage even during the observance of Holy Week and Summer Vacation.

The Regional Director has also ordered all PNP Unit Commanders to coordinate with Local Government Units (LGUs), Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), other government agencies and Volunteer Groups in establishing assistance desks and deployment of Road Safety Marshals for a collaborative and unified delivery of public safety services.

“During these significant activities, it is expected that the influx of people can cause traffic congestion and vehicular accidents along major thoroughfares, business and commercial centers and recreational areas.

RD Ludan reminded all the PNP units to be observant, especially burglars, pickpockets, thieves, robbers, criminal groups, and other threat groups who would take advantage of these situations.
