Catalan was caught after robbing the LBC branch on General Espino Street in Barangay Central Signal Village, Taguig at around 1:20 p.m.

A representative from LBC called the Taguig Police Sub-Station 6 and told them that the branch was robbed by a man armed with an improvised shotgun (sumpak).

The police immediately sent a team to the area where they saw Catalan in possession of an improvised shotgun.

Upon seeing the police, the suspect tried to flee but was caught after a chase.

Confiscated from the suspect were the improvised shotgun, one live 12-gauge ammunition, one fired cartridge, and P8,284 cash.

Catalan is under the custody of the Taguig police and will be charged with robbery and violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) in relation to the Omnibus Election Code.

“I would like to remind the public to be vigilant and be observant of their environment. If you see any suspicious activities, call the police immediately so that these criminals will be put behind bars,” said Macaraeg.
