7 injured in Zambales plane crash

At least seven people were injured after a light plane crashed in Iba, Zambales on Thursday morning, March 17.

The injured victims were identified as Capt. Mel Bidayan, pilot in command; Capts. Florencio Ruiz, Captain Jamel Reamon, Albrench Sagario, Carmelita Bidayan, Ian Vincent Agdamag, and Robin Austria. All of them suffered minor injuries.

A report reaching Camp Came in Quezon City disclosed that local policemen were sent to shoreline of Barangay Sto. Rosario in Iba town after a local resident informed the nearest police station that a plane crashed in the area.

The plane is a Rockwell Commander 685 or Aero Commander 685 and is operated by Sentinel Logistic Air Management.

The pilots were rescued with the help of rescue teams of other government agencies which responded to the area.

"According to the pilot in Command the possible cause of the plane crash is mechanical failure," the police report read.

The injured pilots were taken to a hospital in Iba town.
