Jailed man's revelation leads to elder brod's arrest in Bacolod buy-bust operation

BACOLOD CITY – Police arrested an alleged drug peddler following a revelation made by the suspect’s younger brother who had been apprehended earlier for the same offense in Barangay Banago here on Monday.

Capt. Paul Vincent Pendon, head of Police Station 2, said the arrest of Carlo Arevalo, 24, came after the police got some idea on the elder Arevalo’s drug transactions from his very own brother identified as Mark Arevalo, 21.

Carlo allegedly yielded P374,000 worth of suspected shabu when arrested during a buy-bust operation in Brgy. Banago.

The younger one was arrested last Sunday (along with an unnamed companion), with the police recovering from him P278,800 worth of the alleged prohibited substance.

Pendon admitted the siblings had no previous cases, but just the same, he said the police are conducting probes to determine the brothers’ possible source of the illegal drugs outside Negros Occidental.
