Beauty queen Sandra Lemonon will soon become Mrs. Mercado.

The 27-year-old model from Taguig recently announced her engagement with veteran basketball player Sol Mercado.

"(infinity emoji) with you @m3rcmywords (heart and fire emojis) I love you (sparkles emoji)," she wrote along with the numbers "11/03/2022" and "5:00pm" seemingly the date and time that she gave her sweetest "yes."

Sandra's colleagues in pageantry, including Katarina Rodriguez, Rachel Peters, Catriona Gray, Hannah Arnold, Steffi Aberasturi, and Samantha Bernardo, extended their congratulatory messages.

It was September last year when the former fiance' of actress Denise Laurel announced that he's back in the dating game.

In 2016 when Sol and Denise canceled their wedding after being engaged for three years.

On Instagram, Sol proudly expressed his feeling for Sandra.

“‘What’s understood doesn’t have to be explained,'” he wrote that time. “That’s US! Never have I had anyone get me and understand me the way you do, we constantly on the same vibration and I appreciate and love you more than can be explained through this post. Looking forward to continuing this journey together, life is so much better with you by my side!”

Sandra announced last year about her retirement in pageants.

According to her, there’s “not much time” in life that she wants to be “happy and real.”

Sandra became controversial some years ago after she ignited controversies following her Miss Universe Philippines 2020 stint, where Miss Iloilo Rabiya Mateo was crowned. She finished in the Top 16.

Prior, Sandra went viral in 2018 when she failed to answer in the final question-and-answer portion of Bb. Pilipinas beauty pageant. She was asked about her thoughts on the “build, build, build” program of the government, but she admitted she had no idea about it.
