Mark Villar on Las Piñas turnout for UniTeam: 'Parang walang naiwan sa bahay'

Did the entire population of Las Piñas City leave their homes to get a glimpse of the UniTeam tandem of Bongbong Marcos and Sara Duterte when they visited the city on Sunday, March 13?

UniTeam senatorial bet and former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) secretary Mark Villar thinks so given the sheer number of people he saw on the streets during the motorcade and the eventual grand rally at The Tent in Global South, Manuyo Dos, Las Piñas City.

"Kanina sa caravan, grabe, ewan ko lang kung nakita niyo, pero parang wala nang Las Piñero na naiwan sa bahay. Lahat po ng ating mga kapwa Las Piñero nasa kalsada na kanina, kaya di na ata ko kailangan mag-speech (Earlier at the caravan, my goodness, I don't know if you saw it, but it's as not one Las Piñero was left at home. All of our fellow Las Piñeros were on the streets earlier, and I think I don't have to do this speech anymore)," awestruck hometown boy Villar said.

The caravan around Las Piñas was believed to be doable in an hour; instead, it took nearly four hours to complete due to the huge throng of well-wishers and supporters that showed up.

Based on the turnout of the people for the UniTeam's activities Sunday, Villar suggested that the results of the May 9 polls were already a foregone conclusion.

"Mukhang tapos na ang eleksyon kaya hindi na ako magsasalita nang mahaba (I won't speak too long since it looks like the elections are already over)," he said.

Former senator Marcos is vying for the presidency, while incumbent Davao City Mayor Duterte is eyeing the vice president's sear. Both have consistently led pre-election surveys for the respective positions.

The UniTeam grand rally in Las Piñas City was hosted by Mayor Imelda Aguilar, Vice Mayor April Aguilar, Rep. Camille Villar, Mark Villar, Sen. Cynthia Villar, and former Senate President Manny Villar, Nacionalista Party (NP) chairman.

UniTeam candidates led by Marcos and Duterte expressed their deep gratitude to the Aguilars and Villars for the warm welcome that they received.
