369 barangay tanod from Parañaque taught fighting skills, techniques to subdue criminals
A total of 369 barangay watchmen, o barangay tanod, were taught of fighting skills and strategies in subduing suspected law violators as part of the efforts to improve the peace and order in their respective areas.
Police Maj. Gen. Felipe Natividad, director of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), said the barangay tanod all came from Parañaque City while the program is part of their Patrolling and Response Operations Training to Empower CVOs & Tanod (P.R.O.T.E.C.T).

"This is aimed at boosting the capabilities and confidence of barangay force multipliers and other participants in the performance of their peace keeping functions," said Natividad.
Among those taught were the use of yantok, or stick, different handcuffing technique.

The graduation also included the distribution of 150 food packs, 300 hot meals; 80 pairs of shoes, and toys worth of P5,000.00 to the residents of Parañaque City.
