Vice presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte remains not inclined to attend the Commission on Elections (Comelec)-sponsored debates later this month.
"We already released a statement about the debates no, I've already decided that I would do this campaign without joining debates," she told reporters in an ambush interview Saturday, morning, March 12 in Parañaque City.
"Iniiwan ko na po yan sa lahat ng ating kababayan ang pagdesisyon sa pagpili nila ng vice president na ganito yung aking direksyon sa kampanya (I've left it to our countrymen to decide whether or not they would vote for a vice president with a campaign direction like this)," she added.
Asked if there was a chance that she would change her mind, the presidential daughter said, "Kung magbago man o hindi (If there will be a change), we will let you know but as of this very moment, the decision is to conduct this campaign without joining debates."
The first Comelec debate for vice presidential candidates will take place on March 20. The second will be held on April 23, this time via a town hall format.
