CEBU CITY--A district office of the Land Transportation Office-Central Visayas (LTO 7) in Ronda town, southern Cebu has been named as the Most Pandemic Resilient LTO Office in the Visayas.
The Ronda District Office (DO) bested 70 other frontline offices in the Visayas to bag the award, which was given during the LTO Operations Forum 2022 held last March 9-11 in Bacolod City.
LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Edgar Galvante and LTO Executive Director Atty. Romeo Vera Cruz handed the award to LTO Ronda DO officer-in-charge Mhike Jelord Rollo together with LTO 7 regional director Victor Emmanuel Caindec.
The Ronda DO was built only last year.
"This award is very fulfilling since we made a lot of sacrifices and faced a lot of challenges from the pandemic to the devastating Typhoon Odette," Rollo said.
Amidst the challenges of implementing the health protocols, loss of power and internet due to the typhoon, and the adjustment of the new LTO IT System, LTO Ronda DO proved to be one of the role-model offices in the entire LTO offices in the Visayas, said Caindec.
"The award affirms the hard work of LTO Ronda with the support of the entire LTO Region 7 in its endeavors to serve its people beyond just the mandate of providing registrations, licenses, and law enforcement. It also shows that LTO is reaching out to its communities and other stakeholders in ensuring that good governance is felt by its constituents."
Ronda DO opened last November 2020 LTO's Most Pandemic Resilient Office was judged according to the actions imposed/initiated by the head/chief of office to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and the productive activities conducted by its office personnel while the office is on lockdown or while personnel was on alternate working arrangement.
