Binangonan Covid-19 vax drive targets 29 percent of unvaccinated population


The municipal government of Binangonan in Rizal is targeting to inoculate the remaining 29 percent of its target population in the vaccination program against Covid-19.

The office of Mayor Cesar Ynares said as of March 10, the town still has 67,611 residents who remain unvaccinated out of the 227,611 target population.

A total of 160,290 individuals in the municipality received their second dose of the vaccine while 24,266 others got their booster shot.

There are five vaccination sites in the municipality including the Binangonan Recreation and Conference Center, the venue for the inoculation of children aged five to 11.

Recently, the Binangonan municipal government was cited by the Department of Health Region 4-A for being one of the localities in Rizal Province that has the highest number of administered vaccines in the country during the Bayanihan, Bakunahan 1 and 2.

Municipal administrator Russell Ynares told Manila Bulletin that Binangonan received the “Golden Jab Award” for the town’s achievement in the fight against Covid-19.

The town is participating in the Bayanihan, Bakunahan 4 national vaccination program of the government from March 10 to 12.
