UniTeam Senate bet Herbert Bautista, Anakalusugan Party-list Rep. Mike Defensor, and Quezon City Councilor Winston Castelo said that Quezon City will rally behind the UniTeam tandem of presidential candidate Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr. and his running mate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio.
According to Bautista, who served as Quezon City mayor from 2010 to 2019, then-Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte won and then-senator Marcos both won in Quezon City during the 2016 elections. As such, he believes that Quezon City will once again vote for a Duterte and a Marcos.
"Kaya uulitin natin 'yan sa Quezon City...Ang ating ipapanalo sa Quezon City bilang presidente ay wala pong iba kundi si President Bongbong Marcos, at ang atin pong vice president ay si Vice President Sara Duterte (We will do it again in Quezon City.... Quezon City will elect President Bongbong Marcos and Vice President Sara Duterte)," said Bautista during a meeting with Batasan Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association (BATODA) members in Quezon City on Thursday, March 10.
Defensor and Castelo, who are running for mayor and vice mayor respectively, echoed Bautista's sentiments.
"Tulungan po natin at siguraduhin natin na dito sa Quezon City, ang mananalo at magiging bise presidente ng lungsod Quezon City ay si Mayor Inday Sara Duterte (Let's ensure that here in Quezon City, Mayor Sara Duterte will win)," Defensor said.
“Kami ay nakakatiyak na dito sa Quezon City, walang masasayang na boto, lahat boboto kay Mayor Inday Sara. At kasma na din po diyan ang ating susunod na Pangulo, Bongbong Marcos (We are sure that no votes will be wasted in Quezon City. All will vote for Mayor Inday Sara and presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos)," Castelo said.
Castelo predicted that 70 percent of Quezon City's voter population of over 1.4 million will support the UniTeam.
Meanwhile, BATODA head Charlie Mangune also assured the three local candidates that the group would support the UniTeam bets.
Bautista is running for senator under the UniTeam banner of Marcos and Duterte in the May 2022 polls. D
