Rap royalties Gloc-9 and Shanti Dope live at RWM

Live performances have returned to the country’s premier lifestyle and entertainment destination, Resorts World Manila (RWM) in a big way. The hip hop rap concert ‘RAPSODY’ is expected to gather hip hop and rap diehards in droves to the award-winning Newport Performing Arts Theater stage on April 2, Saturday, 8 pm, featuring two of the Philippines’ greatest rap artists of all time, Gloc-9 and Shanti Dope.

Christened Aristotle Condenuevo Pollisco, but known professionally as Gloc-9, is a popular Filipino rapper, singer, and songwriter. Regarded as one of the best Filipino rappers of all-time, his fast-flowing vocal style has made him one of the most successful hip-hop artists in the Philippines. His famous hits include “Sirena,” “Simpleng Tao,” and “Upuan.”

Another rapper whose time has finally come is Sean Patrick Ramos, better known professionally as Shanti Dope. He is a Filipino rapper, singer and songwriter who is hugely popular for his hit songs "Nadarang"; "Shantidope"; "MAU"; and "Amatz";. Shanti Dope started writing verses in 2013 following the footsteps of local rappers who use songwriting as a way to tell stories.

Joining Gloc-9 and Shanti Dope is female R&B artist Loir who broke into the music scene with her debut single “Sakay”. She has also collaborated with Gloc-9 on a couple of songs prior to her signing up with her present record label. Coincidentally, Loir is managed by Asintada Management, the same outfit that manages the careers of Gloc-9 and Shanti Dope.

Another up-and-coming rapper who’s making waves in the hip hop scene is Airon Paul Bayani or known simply as Hero. Hero has been featured in Gloc-9’s 44 Challenge and also collaborated with him on “Pasan” and “Ipakita Mo”. With the release of his debut single “Katulad”, Hero now seems to be on a steady rise to stardom.

Rounding out the guests of "RAPSODY" is R&B singer JKris. A 2019 Tawag Ng Tanghalan and It’s Showtime alum, JKris has, since his departure from TNT, and It’s Showtime, collaborated with Gloc-9 and Shanti Dope on the song “Norem” and has also released his debut single “Pamaypay”.

As Gloc-9, Shanti Dope and all their guests apparently share a history of past collaborative efforts, the show will become a grand collaboration between the country’s biggest rap artists
today.

Produced by Full House Theater Company, witness the colossal performance of the Philippines’ biggest rappers, Gloc-9 and Shanti Dope with guest artists Loir, Hero and JKris.
