Valentino’s fall-winter 2022-2023 collection makes a bold statement with the color pink

Pierpaolo Piccioli’s latest collection comes in a singular yet powerful color

Very Peri may be the 2022 Color of the Year, but pink continues to give it a run for its money. The latest to make a big pink statement is Pierpaolo Piccioli with his “Pink PP” fall-winter 2022-2023 collection for luxury fashion house Valentino.

Something rosy is what the Italian fashion designer envisions the world will wear in the cold season. But unlike that Think Pink scene in the 1957 movie “Funny Face,” Piccioli’s pink collection serves more style than just ladylike. There’s a celebration of texture courtesy of embellished garbs, metallic pieces, and coats that have floral appliques and feathers. Movement is also present as designs in sheer and tulle dance as the models walk down its pink runway. Tailoring becomes more relaxed as it gains new silhouettes and some are even paired with street style items.

In the middle of the show, Valentino breaks its pink parade with a series of black ensembles, bringing opulence and regalness. “Pink PP” continues with another pink display, this time, with drama as stunning evening pieces put the show to end on a romantic note.
