The Indonesia-based team led by Filipino players Timothy “Tims” Randrup, Andrei “skem” Ong and Erin Jasper “Yopaj” Ferrer climbed their way up through the lower bracket to set up the clash against Tundra, which interestingly the reason why it had to go through the longer route to the Grand Finals.

Tundra beat Boom Esports 2-1 in their first meeting in the first round of the upper bracket.

Seeing some shade of the first meeting loss after Tundra took a 2-1 series lead, Boom came alive in the last two games to claim the victory and bag an estimate of P5.5 million top prize.

Yopaj starred in the last two games for Boom as he took the matter in his own hands with a near-perfect 11-1-6 performance on the Templar Assassin to help Boom score a 20-11 Game 4 win and extend the series to a deciding Game 5.

He then connived with Indonesian teammate Saieful “FBz” Ilham in the final game as the two led Boom’s 29-18 domination of the UK-based squad.

Yopaj unleashed a perfect 14-0-10 showing on the Templar Assassin once again while Fbz provided support with an 8-5-12 KDA on the Brewmaster.

It was an impressive run for Boom which was dubbed as the ‘Boom Suprema-SEA’ after it topped the group stage of the tournament with a perfect 3-0 record against top tier squads like Team Secret and OG.

After the first game hiccup against Tundra in the playoffs, Boom then ran wild in the lower bracket as it asserted its mastery over Team Secret with another 2-0 sweep in the round 1 of the lower bracket.

It then slayed The International 10 champions Team Spirit in the next round, 2-0, before dispatching another European powerhouse in Nigma Galaxy, 2-1 in the lower bracket finals.
