ILOILO CITY—In time with the celebration of National Women’s Month, the Philippine National Police (PNP) awarded eight outstanding lady cops and two non-uniform personnel (NUP) assigned in Western Visayas region.
Seven lady cops were awarded the Medalya ng Papuri during a Monday ceremony at Camp Delgado, the PNP’s regional headquarters in Iloilo City.
The Police Regional Office (PRO-6) awarded the medals to Lieutenant Colonel Joem Malong of Bago City Police Station in Negros Occidental province; Major Shella Mae Sangrines of the Iloilo City Police Office-Station 1; Major Rowena Hubero of Barotac Nuevo Municipal Police Station in Iloilo province; Lieutenant Merry Chris Dela Cruz of Capiz Police Provincial Office;
Executive Master Sergeant Nina Pagunsan of Hamtic Municipal Police in Antique province; Senior Master Sergeant Kim Vingno of Ilog Municipal Police Station in Negros Occidental province; Corporal Lady Lee Berganio of the 2nd Capiz Provincial Mobile Force Company; and Corporal Claire Collen Nicodemus of the 2nd Aklan Provincial Mobile Force.
The two outstanding female NUPs are Fritzie Gay Salazar of Malinao Municipal Police Station in Aklan province and Ma. Gindy Algarne, who is assigned at PRO-6’s Regional Plans and Strategy Management Division.
Anna Liza Umpar, regional director of National Intelligence Coordination Agency 6 (NICA-6), urged the PNP to continue rewarding female officers and staff.
“Let us put more stars on the shoulders of more women who deserve such,” said Umpar during her speech.
