Reelectionist Rep. Shernee Tan-Tambut of Kusug Tausug Party-list was lucky to have a VIP "tour guide" when she campaigned in Pampanga last week.

That very important person who braved the scorching summer heat with her was none other than former President and House Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
Pictures from Tan-Tambut's office showed Macapagal-Arroyo accompanying the party-list solon during a walk-around in Pampanga last March 4.
Arroyo, who served as the country’s president from 2001 to 2010, is running unopposed as representative of the 2nd district of Pampanga. The particular district of the province covers six towns, including Lubao and Guagua.
Arroyo was Speaker of the House during the third regular session of the previous 17th Congress.
Tan-Tambut, who was with her husband Capt. Marjani “John” Tambut, toured the Muslim communities of barangays Sto. Nino and San Rafael in Guagua, as well as met with the Muslim leaders of Arayat .
The historical town of Guagua is home to thousands of Muslims who relocated directly from Mindanao. Several Muslim families likewise reside in the municipality of Arayat.

Introducing the Kusug Tausug party-list and its vision of inclusive growth, Tan-Tambut urged her fellow Muslims to help her increase the representation of Muslims in the House of Representatives.
Earlier that day, the congresswoman witnessed the signing in San Fernando City of the Commission on Elections (Comelec)-sponsored Peace Covenant and recitation of the Integrity Pledge of all candidates in Pampanga. After this, she proceeded to the Muslim Center of Barangay San Pedro, San Fernando City.
The following day, March 5, Tan-Tambut attended the consultation with purok leaders of the municipality of Lubao,, organized by Pampanga Vice Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda.
After the Lubao event, she attended the interfaith meeting in Quezon City between the Muslim ulamas of the National Capital Region (NCR) and Christian leaders of Metro Manila.
