DOTr: MRT-3 to offer free ride for female passengers on National Women's Day

The Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) will offer free rides for women in line with the celebration of National Women’s Day on March 8, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said.

In a statement, MRT-3 OIC-General Manager Asec. Eymard D. Eje said the free ride event aims to recognize women for their unique and invaluable contributions to society.

"Kaisa po ng buong bansa ang pamunuan ng MRT-3 sa pagdiriwang at pagsaludo sa dedikasyon, galing, at puso ng bawat kababaihang Pilipino (The country joins the leadership of MRT-3 in honoring and saluting the dedication, talent, and heart of every Filipino woman),” Eje said on Monday, March 7.

Female commuters may benefit from the free ride event from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

“Nawa sa simpleng paraan tulad ng aming libreng sakay ay makapaghatid tayo ng kasiyahan sa ating mga kababaihan sa kanilang espesyal na araw (May this simple gesture bring joy to our women on their special day),” he said.
