BACOLOD CITY - As the city was placed under Alert Level 1 from March 1 to 15, 2022, the city government recently announced that at least 40 public elementary and secondary schools here are now ready to conduct limited face-to-face (F2F) classes.
Councilor Renecito Novero, chairperson of the committee on education of the City Council, held a meeting with the local school board, principals, and the Emergency Operations Center-Task Force (EOC-TF) last week on the resumption of F2F classes after the Department of Education (DepEd) resumed F2F classes for Grade 12 students at the Alangilan National High School (ANHS) in Barangay Alangilan on Feb. 28.

The school also conducted the pilot run of F2F classes here in December last year, composed of two groups with 20 students in each group, after it complied with all the requirements from the EOC-TF to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and personnel.
With the anticipated resumption of F2F classes in other schools here, Novero said that teachers should be fully vaccinated. The schools were also advised to accept only students who have been vaccinated against Covid-19 despite DepEd allowing unvaccinated students to join the limited F2F classes.
Novero said the holding of limited F2F classes of these schools is still subject to certain policies and health protocols.
