Veteran actress Luz Fernandez passed away this morning, March 6. She was 86.
Her passing on was announced by her son Karl, who updated his profile picture on Facebook with his mom's photo as Lola Torya from the 1980s children's fantasy show "Ora Engkantada." Her son did not say the cause of her death.
The comment section of his post was immediately filled with condolence messages from their friends and loved ones.
In one of the comments, Karl revealed that Luz was being taken care of by her old giver when she passed away. "Kasi nasa hospital siya."
In another comment, Karl said that Luz will be laid to rest on March 9.
The wake for her mom will be held in Marikina City.
"Mama is in a place now with no more pain," he said.
Karl also thanked an online user who commented: "Deepest sympathies for your family’s loss Te.. The whole nation also lost another amazing talent, a library of the history of Philippine tv, radio and cinema. May your beloved mom rest in peace."
Luz is also known for her work in "Okay Ka, Fairy Ko."
