To meet more than 47,000 supporters gathered at the General Trias Sports Park in Cavite for her grand rally, Vice President Leni Robredo had to hitch a ride on the back of a motorcycle after getting stuck in traffic for more than four hours.
Traffic wasn't usually bad at that part of General Trias, Cavite, but road closures and the grand rally were no match for a four-lane road that became the center of the vote-rich province on Friday, March 4, as Robredo's supporters clogged all roads leading to the sortie venue.
Supporters and passersby managed to take a few photos and videos of the Vice President as guards rushed to her when she got to the venue, where thousands of people had been waiting since morning.
In a Facebook post, her chief-of-staff, Philip Dy, confirmed that the Vice President indeed had to ride a motorcycle to meet her supporters.
“Leni Robredo. Gagawin lahat. Gagawan ng paraan. Maabot ka lang. (rose emoticon) Salamat sa pagbuhos ng pagmamahal, Cavite (She will do everything. She will look for ways. To reach you. Thank you for the outpouring of love, Cavite)!,” he wrote.
Her daughter, Tricia, reposted a photo and called her mom, "Leni 'my ride or die' Robredo (motorcycle emoticon)."

A certain Kristine Danica Mariano (@kristine_danica) replied to Tricia's tweet, introducing herself as the wife of the motorcycle driver who took Robredo passenger.
“Hindi po ata makakatulog ang mister ko sa sobrang saya. Mister ko po ang nasakyan ni VP (My husband won't be able to sleep because of happiness. My husband was the one whose motorcycle VP rode)," she wrote.

Tricia replied and thanked her husband for accommodating Robredo.
After being asked by Robredo's supporters, Mariano said her husband was standing on one side of the road when a member of Robredo's security team approached to ask if it was okay for him to take the presidential candidate to the venue.
Quoting her husband, she said Robredo was very "nice" and that her husband was still over the moon about it.
A couple of kakampinks, the Vice President's supporters, apparently reached out to her and offered to pay for gas out of their gratefulness.
The province has 2.3 million voters this coming May 2022 elections and Cavite Gov. Jonvic Remulla promised 800,000 of those votes to former Senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr. This was what most Caviteños were opposing when they attended the rally on Friday, wearing shirts that said "800K Minus One."

In 2016, Robredo lost to Marcos by 150,000 votes.
