Bulacan speeds up vaccination of students, teachers in preparation for face-to-face classes

The Provincial Government of Bulacan, through the Provincial Health Office- Public Health, will conduct an accelerated vaccination program in public schools in the province to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and staff who will go back to school for limited face-to-face classes.

In Gov. Daniel R. Fernando’s letter to Department of Education (DepEd)-Bulacan Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Zenia G. Mostoles, he highlighted the strict implementation of Executive Order No. 5, Series of 2022, which states that establishments and activities, including face-to-face classes, will be allowed provided there is no objection from the local government unit.

Fernando requested all schools in the province under DepEd, Commission on Higher Education (CHED), and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) including review centers, to submit certification of vaccination status before the opening of classes.

Mostoles, in her video message posted on DepEd Tayo Bulacan Facebook page, said that 44 public schools in Bulacan already started with limited face-to-face classes last February 21, 2022.

A total of 5,006 Bulakenyo students coming from one elementary and 43 secondary schools all over the province were able to participate in the limited face-to-face classes. Dona Damiana Macam Memorial Elementary School in Calumpit was the lone elementary school to open its doors to students.

Meanwhile, the list of secondary schools that started holding face-to-face classes includes Taliptip National High School in Bulakan; San Roque High School in Paombong; San Pedro National High School, Ramona Trillana High School, and Sta. Monica National High School in Hagonoy; Guiguinto National Vocational School and Felizardo C. Lipana National High School in Guiguinto; San Miguel-Meysulao High School, Frances High School, and Calumpit National High School in Calumpit; Engr. Virgilio Dionisio Memorial High School, Sta. Peregrina High School, and Bajet Castillo High School in Pulilan; Balagtas Agricultural National High School in Balagtas; Bulihan High School in Plaridel; Cambaog National High School, Aguinaldo Santos High School, Alexis Santos National High School in Bustos.

Ohters are Baliuag Senior High School Stand Alone, Virgen Delas Flores High School, Teodoro Evangelista Memorial High School, Sto. Niño High School, Sulivan National High School, and Mariano Ponce National High School in Baliuag; Bunsuran National High School, Virginia Ramirez High School, and Masagana High School in Pandi; Iluminada Mendoza High School and Taal High School in Bocaue; Maronquillo National High School, San Rafael National Trade School, and Carlos Gonzales High School in San Rafael; John J. Russel Memorial High School and Partida National High School in San Miguel; San Ildefonso National High School in San Ildefonso; North Hills Village High School in Norzagaray; Angel M. Del Rosario High School and Pres. Diosdado P.Macapagal Memorial High School in Angat; Laura De Leon Halili High School, Sapang Bulac High School, Talbak High School, and Esteban Paulino High School in Doña Remedios Trinidad; and Prenza National High School in Marilao.
