LOOK: Balenciaga turns dismissed iPhone 6s into runway show invitation

What do you do with your broken phones? Throw them away? Well, for French fashion label Balenciaga, these broken devices become its invitation for its latest runway show at Paris Fashion Week fall-winter 2022.

Through an Instagram post, fashion news website Women's Wear Daily shared the invite they got from Balenciaga. Inside the box is a cracked phone, an iPhone 6s, to be exact. Engraved on the back of the phone are the details of the runway show, which will also be livestreamed on March 6.

Balenciaga, with the creative vision of Demna Gvasalia, has been designing its way to the metaverse, first with its foray into digital gaming by partnering with gaming platform Fortnite for its fall 2021 presentation. While the fashion house is among the pioneering brands when it comes to fashion and virtual reality, Balenciaga also went back to its roots by producing its first haute couture collection after 53 years.
