Carlos leads 11-man PNP delegation to ASEAN police conference in Cambodia
Gen. Dionardo Carlos, chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), led the country's police delegation to the 0th ASEAN National Police (ASEANAPOL) Conference in Cambodia to discuss illegal drugs trafficking, terrorism, cybercrime and transitional fraud.
In a statement, the PNP said Carlos flew to Phnom Penh along with 10 other senior police officers to represent the PNP in a three-day conference that will be attended by police delegations from 10 countries.

"The ASEAN Chiefs of Police will discuss the current transnational crime concerns, including efforts aimed at strengthening international cooperation with other police forces in the ASEAN region against transnational syndicates," the statement read.
Coordination and strengthening of alliance on arms smuggling, trafficking in persons, wildlife-related crime, maritime fraud, commercial crime will also be tackled during the series of sessions.
Also, electronic ASEANAPOL Database System, mutual assistance on criminal matters, exchange of personnel and training programs, and ASEAN Police Forensic Science Network are on the discussion table.

The 40th ASEANAPOL is attended by the Chiefs of the Royal Brunei Police Force, Cambodian National Police, Indonesian National Police, Lao People’s Democratic Republic General Department of Police, Royal Malaysia Police, Myanmar Police Force, Philippine National Police, Singapore Police Force, Royal Thai Police, and Socialist Republic of Vietnam Police. Also attending are delegates of Dialogue Partner and Observers from Australian Federal Police, Ministry of Public Security of the People’s Republic of China, National Police Agency of Japan, Korean National Police, New Zealand Police, National Crime Agency (NCA) of the United Kingdom, ICPO-INTERPOL, International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Turkey National Police and Representative from the Russian Embassy in Phnom Penh
In the sidelines of the conference, Carlos had a short meeting with the HoD of UK NCA, AFP and Cambodian National Police.
