Yet another Pokémon game and commercial

What we know about the coming fresh titles, plus the latest Itzy x Pokémon content

K-pop fans, especially the Midzy’s, would go crazy over the latest commercial of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, featuring the five-member girl group, Itzy.

The year 2022 is a great time to be alive for Pokémon fans. For one, there’s the release of Pokémon Legends: Arceus, which critics and casual players alike deem as one of the greatest games of the franchise so far.

On Feb. 27, on Pokémon Day, the all-new entry in the series, Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet were announced to come out on the Nintendo Switch later this year. We know little of the titles, but speculations include that the setting this time around is based on either Italy or Spain. The new region, called Belizia, has a strong European vibe. Like the recent releases, it’ll be an open-world, turn-based game.

People are also loving the 9th generation starters, in particular, the adorable grass kitten Sprigatito, the apple-looking reptile that will keep the doctor away Fuecoco, and the Mario-Donald Duck crossover Quaxly. The Pokémon Co., Ltd. is on a roll this year.

In other news, K-pop fans, especially the Midzy’s, would go crazy over the latest commercial of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, featuring the five-member girl group, Itzy. The video titled “It’z Time to Battle” depicts the South Korean idols under JYP Entertainment playing Pokémon cards.

Available in videos 15 and 30 seconds long, the cute and charming members of Itzy play against one another in the battle card game. They are divided into the Yeji-Lia team versus the Yuna-Chaeryeong team. Ryujin joins in the fun toward the end.

This is the second tie-up project with Itzy. The first was the “Wanna Be a Legend” TV advertisement in preparation for the release of Pokémon: Legends Arceus.

Based on the Pokémon series, the competitive trading card game has been manufactured in total of more than 34.1 billion pieces worldwide. One can enjoy the strategic gameplay and collect a wide variety of cards. Players battle each other using a deck built from 60 cards.
