The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has shut down the operation of 10 alleged unregistered branches of motorcycle stores in Metro Manila and other parts of the country.

Rufo B. Ranario, East Makati Revenue District Officer, said the outlets of Global Mobility Services of Salcedo Village, Makati will remain closed until the registration requirements are complied and deficiency taxes and penalties are paid.

The branches are located in Manila, Quezon City, Antipolo, Isabela, Bulacan, Pampanga, Cebu, Davao and Sorsogon. The facilities include sales outlets, warehouses and places of production.

The stores are also into distribution of side cars, spare parts and mobile tracking devices.

In a report to BIR Commissioner Caesar R. Dulay, Ranario said unregistered receipts and invoices were also seized during the enforcement of the closure order.

Only its main office and two branches were registered with the BIR.

Section 236 of the Tax Code requires the registration of not only the main office, but branch or facility.
