In the past year, no pandemic restrictions prevented beauty queen and actress Pia Wurtzbach from travelling to the world's most exotic locations like Morocco, Seychelles, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Maldives.
While Pia already travelled a lot during her stint as Miss Universe 2015, her tireless globe-trotting goes with the territory of being the girlfriend of Jeremy Jauncey, founder and CEO of the influential travel-related social media sites @beautifulhotels, @beautifulcuisines and @beautifuldestinations.
"Si Jeremy mahilig mag-travel so naging part na lang na sumasama ako," she explained.
Meeting halfway around the globe is also how the power couple keep their love alive. Pia is based in Manila, while Jeremy stays for the most part in the United Arab Emirates. It's presumed that sponsors scramble to give the lovebirds free tours and free hotel stays, among other perks, because their combined social media reach runs into millions. Pia alone has almost 14 million followers on Instagram.
In her previous podcast for Between Us Queens, Pia narrated that her long-distance relationship with Jeremy works because of time management and their commitment to meet , wherever in the world they may be.
"And when we meet again after every few weeks, it feels like am seeing him again for the first time. Back to square one uli, may hiyaan uli," she revealed.
There was a time when Pia was bashed for travelling because she had no more showbiz career to speak of. But this is no longer the case as Pia is appearing soon as the leading lady of Piolo Pascual in the Kapamilya sitcom 'My Papa Pi.' The show, which will air every Saturday starting March 5, is helmed by award-winning director Cathy Garcia-Molina.
The show's location called Mapag-Asa St. is a cool, crowded neighborhood in Manila which is in stark contrast to the glamorous places in Pia's Instagram. Nonetheless, the beauty queen stated that she is very excited and over the moon to be back on TV after a long 10-year hiatus.
