The “Let's GO-UniTeam Coalition”, which previously stood behind the candidacies of President Duterte and Go for vice president and president, respectively, resolved to turn to the side of the frontrunning BBM-Sara UniTeam on Monday, Feb. 28.

The coalition officially was launched following a memorandum of agreement (MOA) signing and oath taking at the Aberdeen Hotel in Quezon City.

UniTeam campaign manager Benhur Abalos and UniTeam Senate candidate lawyer Lorenzo “Larry” Gadon also attended the coalition launch.

Based on the photos posted by ONE News on its Facebook page, the resolution crafted on Feb. 14 detailed the coalition's support to the UniTeam on the basis of Go’s withdrawal from the presidential race last Dec. 14.

“His faith supporters have finally accepted and moved on from his decision to desist from participation in the presidential race,” read the Feb. 14 resolution.

“These supporters believe that the slogan of UniTeam ‘Sama-sama Tayong Babangon Muli' and its vision quoting from the speech of Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ R. Marcos, Jr. (BBM), ‘Taas noo kahit kanino, ako ay Pilipino (Head raised high to anyone, I am Filipino)’ could only be attained under the leadership of UniTeam,” it continued.

According to the group, Marcos, Jr.’s competency as a leader “was bolstered through the display of his attitude and character by not showing any retaliatory measure against his critics despite striking below the belt against his person and that of his families".

They also endorsed presidential daughter Duterte-Carpio’s bid for the vice presidency.

The newly-formed coalition is led by coalition adviser Greco Belgica, Chairman Pablo Alberto Dela Cruz, President Yusoph Mando, Vice President for Internal Affairs Jerry Ponce, and Vice President for Special Concerns Masideng Salic.

Belgica, who is gunning for a Senate seat in the May 2022 polls, is not part of the UniTeam's 12-man senatorial slate.
