President Duterte has remained mum on endorsing any candidate for the two highest posts in the country.

“We respect the position of the President. Maybe because he is his own person, and he is the President,” said Duterte-Carpio during a press conference in Davao City on Monday afternoon, Feb. 28.

“He comes from a party that is different from the party of my running mate and my political party no, so, I am from Lakas–Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD), he is from Partido Demokratiko Pilipino–Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) and Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos is from Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP),” she expounded.

President Duterte has previously said that he and Mayor Duterte haven’t been in much contact, only having spoken with each other once in the recent months.

As of this writing there are only 69 days left until the National Elections on May 9, 2022, leaving many voters wondering if the President will break his silence and endorse any presidential or vice presidential candidate.

“So meron kanya-kanya talagang direksyon ang mga Partido and ang mga politicians, and we respect the President kung ano yung kanyang paninindigan with regard to endorsement ngayong elections (Partido politicians are going in different directions and we respect the president with whatever endorsement he chooses to make this election),” Duterte-Carpio concluded.

Duterte-Carpio is running for vice president alongside presidential bet Marcos, Jr., both under the UniTeam tandem.
