Presidential candidate and Manila mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso on Monday, Feb. 28, said he will push for a law that will end contractualization if he wins the presidency.

"Definitely it will happen. If there is a need to have a law, then so be it. We will try to be sensible and explain to Congress and Senate that this thing must be attended to," Domagoso told the members of the Bus Transport Workers Alliance, Alliance of Genuine Labor Organizations, and National Confederation of Labor who endorsed his candidacy on Monday, Feb. 28.
Domagoso maintained that he will focus on helping Filipinos recover from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic in the first two years of his term.
"In the first two years, life and livelihood. Maraming beses ko na ‘yan sinabi (I have said that many times)," he said.
Domagoso assured that regularization of Filipino workers is important to him but will first provide jobs to those who were displaced amid the pandemic.
"Yung isa sa mga kahilingan ninyo, mga pangarap niyo, ‘yung kapanatagan sa empleyo ay nasa radar din naman natin (One of your requests, your dreams to have a secured job are also on our radar)," he said.
"Uunahin ko lamang maibalik ‘yung apat na milyong nawalan ng trabaho dahil sa pandemya. 'Yung buhay mapangalagaan (I will just help first the four million people who lost their jobs due to the pandemic. So, life will be protected)," he assured.
Domagoso had previously said that the regularization of contractual workers will not be an immediate priority of his administration should he win in the elections.
