In time for its 71st year founding anniversary on Feb. 28, DSWD received an International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certification for its Quality Management System (QMS), as well as a Silver Trailblazer Award for its Performance Governance Scorecard (PGS) journey.

“The awards summarize the Department’s continuous pursuit for quality public service delivery,” said DSWD in a press statement on Monday, Feb. 28.

The ISO certification, according to DSWD, was a product of the Department’s two-year tireless and improved services, particularly the following: securing travel clearance for minors travelling abroad and its disaster data request processing.

“This also includes all essential support services, such as administrative service, human resource management and development service, procurement management service, finance management service, and information and communications technology management service in all offices throughout the country,” it said.

Meanwhile, DSWD’s PGS initiative gave way to extend the Department’s aid to Filipinos.

“Through PGS... were able to increase the number of self-sufficient Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) households from 300,000 in 2019 to more than 800,000. The Department’s centers and residential care facilities (CRCFs) with Center of Excellence status also increased from 14 to 30,” DSWD added.

WIth the newly-received certification and award, DSWD has committed to ensuring that “more Filipinos will be provided with quality service” in the coming years.
