NCR, 38 other areas, placed under Alert Level 1 from March 1-15


After almost two years of being the epicenter of coronavirus (COVID-19) infections, the National Capital Region (NCR) will finally be moving to Alert Level 1, the least strict among the four risk classifications, starting March 1, 2022, Malacañang announced.

On Sunday, February 27, Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles said that Metro Manila would be under Alert Level 1 from March 1 to 15, 2022. The region is under Alert Level 2 until February 28.

Aside from Metro Manila, the following areas in Luzon will also be under Alert Level 1:

  1. Abra
  2. Apayao
  3. Baguio City
  4. Kalinga
  5. Dagupan City
  6. Ilocos Norte
  7. Ilocos Sur
  8. La Union
  9. Pangasinan
  10. Batanes
  11. Cagayan
  12. City of Santiago
  13. Isabela
  14. Quirino
  15. Angeles City
  16. Aurora
  17. Bataan
  18. Bulacan
  19. Olongapo City
  20. Pampanga
  21. Tarlac
  22. Cavite
  23. Laguna
  24. Marinduque
  25. Puerto Princesa City
  26. Romblon
  27. Naga City
  28. Catanduanes

The following six areas in the Visayas will also be under Alert Level 1:

  1. Aklan
  2. Bacolod City
  3. Capiz
  4. Guimaras
  5. Siquijor
  6. Biliran

Also under Alert Level 1 are the following four areas in Mindanao:

  1. Zamboanga City
  2. Cagayan de Oro City
  3. Camiguin
  4. Davao City

Under Alert Level 1, there are no restrictions in terms of indoor and outdoor capacities. Everyone can undertake intrazonal and interzonal travel without regard to age and even comorbidities.

All establishments, persons, or activities are likewise allowed to operate, work, or be undertaken at total on-site or venue seating capacity, provided these are consistent with minimum public health standards.

Meanwhile, face-to-face classes for primary education shall be subject to prior approval of the Office of the President.

Meanwhile, the following areas will be under Alert Level 2 from March 1 to 15, 2022:
