Lacson: Same-sex marriage, no; civil union, yes

The lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender and other members of the LGBTQ plus community will have their rights heard under a Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson presidency.

Lacson, a presidential candidate in the upcoming May 2022 elections, made the assurance during the CNN Presidential 2022 presidential debate on Sunday.

“Same-sex marriange, no; civil union (for the LGBTQ community), yes,” Lacson said during the public debate.

Lacson said he agrees with fellow presidential candidate Vice President Leni Robredo in saying that no member of the LGBTQ community should face discrimination.

“Dapat walang discrimination, may karapatan din silang maging ordinaryo (There should be no discrimination, they also have a right to live ordinary lives),” said the Partido Reporma standard bearer.

“...Bigyan din natin sila ng pagkakataon (Let us also give them a chance),” he said.

During the debate, Lacson also signified he is in favor of divorce.
