An enhanced version of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) mobile application or GSIS Touch was launched by the agency on Friday, Feb.25, providing members and pensioners instant access to their GSIS records using their mobile phones.
GSIS President and General Manager Rolando Ledesma Macasaet said the latest features and upgraded functionalities GSIS Touch will give clients a safe, fast, and convenient transaction experience.
He said active members, through the enhanced feature of the GSIS Touch, may now generate tentative computations of their loan and claim benefits, as well as submit their loan and claim applications.
As such, Macasaet said members may also quickly access their membership and insurance policy records; keep track of their premium remittances and loan payments; and check their dividends, among others.
“Ang mga pensiyonado naman ay pwede na rin mag-submit ng kanilang (Pensioners may also send a) request for APIR interview schedule at their convenience. Makikita rin nila sa app ang kanilang (They can also see in the application their) monthly pension records at loan payments,” he said.
According to Macasaet, additional security features were also incorporated in the mobile application, saying that it now recognizes fingerprint or facial image for login of users using smartphones with biometrics capability or feature.
Moreover, the GSIS Touch provides access to the online Guide to Transactions and Processes (GTAP). GTAP is the first electronic Citizen’s Charter (containing step-by-step guide to basic frontline services) in the Philippine government.
“For government agencies and individual clients with vehicles that are insured with GSIS, the mobile app also provides information on how to download the Motor Vehicle (MV) Claim app.”
Macasaet said the directory of branch offices, as well as the latest news on GSIS, may likewise be accessed through the GSIS Touch.
“The app was developed entirely in-house by the GSIS Information Technology Services Group.”
