A newly-formed, pro-micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) party-list has highlighted its strong performance in a recent Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey.

The results of the SWS survey, conducted from January 9 to 24, 2022, showed that Angat Pinoy Party-list has broken into the top 40 groups as far as voter preference is concerned.
With less than three months to go before the May 2022 polls, Angat Pinoy believes that there is an increasing public awareness on party-list groups "with credible advocacies and programs that they perceive will best serve their specific socio-econmic needs".
At least 165 party-list groups will be vying for an estimated 63 seats in the House of Representatives in the May 9 polls, according to the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
“Angat , aims to introduce sustainable programs and laws that will focus on helping survive under the new normal; women groups’ welfare, especially single parents; and Overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), particularly those who lost their jobs and returned home,” said the party-list’s chairman emeritus and former Davao del Norte governor, Anthony del Rosario.
As part of its advocacy, Angat Pinoy--if and when it secures a House seat--will provide guidance and assistance to MSMEs so they may have easy access to various and existing national funds allocated for the sector. Such funds can be used to restart businesses interrupted by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

Last month, Angat Pinoy launched the Angat Pinoy Tulong Negosyo Program, which provides a grant of P10,000 to qualified MSMEs.
“One of the problems of , which operate on a ‘hand-to-mouth’ business is the lack of funds. Kaya naisip namin, bakit hindi natin bigyan ng interest-free grant ang mga ganitong , para makapag-umpisa uli sila ng maliit na negosyo na nahinto dahil sa pandemya? (That's why we thought, why not give these MSMEs an interest-free grant so that they can start there business anew amid the pandemic?)" Del Rosario said.
Karina Anna "Aina" Chiu-Del Rosario, a registered nurse and former president of Davao Del Norte Council of Women; and Mellisa Ann "Missy" Hilario, a three-termer councilor of Sto Domingo, Albay, are among the nominees of Angat Pinoy.
Winning party-lists can have a maximum of three seats in the House, depending on the number of votes they get.
