The mass at 12:15 p.m. is in commemoration of the 36th anniversary of EDSA People Power Revolution.

In response to the proposal of priests, the Cardinal also approved the tolling of church bells at 12 noon and 8 p.m. on the said day in gratitude to the Lord for the gift of achieving change through prayer, love of country and peaceful means.

The tolling of church bells will also be an expression of the Archdiocese of Manila's solidarity with the people of Ukraine.

Meanwhile, a parish in Manila asked massgoers to wear black on Friday.

"We invite every massgoer to wear a black t-shirt and bring their own candle because after the Holy Mass there will be a candle light procession with the Blessed Sacrament," the Most Holy Trinity Parish in Sampaloc said in a Facebook post.

The mass commemorating the anniversary of Edsa People Power in the said parish will be held at 6 p.m.

EDSA People Power 1 was a historic uprising in February 1986 that toppled the decades-old Marcos regime.
