Metro Manila mayors were unanimous in recommending a shift to Alert Level 1 in the metropolis starting March 1, 2022.

Worldwide tensions rise amid the reported impending invasion of Ukraine by Russia, and the Philippines is focusing its efforts on the repatriation of Filipinos who are still in the embattled eastern European country.

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) reported 76 Filipinos in Hong Kong have tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). There were earlier reports that some inconsiderate employers sacked their Filipino employees and closed their doors on them after the latter contracted the coronavirus.
