OPPO steps up their game with the A95

OPPO has been charging head-on without signs of slowing down. Just recently, they’ve made some big announcements, which include the Find N–their upcoming foldable smartphone and the teased OPPO Find X5 with a partnership with Hasselblad.

Those are exciting things. But let’s step back for a while and talk about the other stuff OPPO is making. Today we’re talking about the OPPO A95. A powerful mid-range phone with an impressive specs sheet that OPPO boasts as a “smart performer that can keep up with the fast-paced lifestyle of every Filipino.”

The OPPO A95 runs with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor, which allows storing high-resolution photos while taking up less storage space. The Adreno 610 GPU, besides improving graphics, supports Wi-Fi 6 and WPA-3 for enhanced security.

Internal memory starts at 128GB and RAM is geared at 8. The 6.43-inch screen features a 2400x1800 resolution with a 60Hz refresh rate. The on-screen fingerprint scanner is fast and accurate. And it ships with a 5000mAh battery.

Now, I like to pride myself as an old school gamer, but I’ve never had a hardware capable of running Genshin Impact. The OPPO A95 can and it delivered smoothly. The battery lasted for hours, long enough for me to figure things out in the game. I’ve also checked out other games like Call of Duty: Mobile, the gorgeous Sky: Children of the Light, and the often frustrating Pokemon Unite (Alas, my dreams of attaining a Master rank will forever remain a dream). The OPPO A95 managed to hold itself up very well as these games ran without any hiccups.

Now it’s 2022, we’ve come to expect the cameras in our phones to be stellar performers. Why shouldn’t they be? People will be sharing stuff online, so they have to be. So we’ve expected nothing less with the OPPO A95. The pictures and videos we’ve taken were bright and colorful, and it works well even in low-light conditions, perfectly suited for posting online. The rear cameras feature 48MP main, 2MP for macro, and 2MP for depth. The front comes with a very solid 16MP.

The design trend these days seems to focus on styling up the camera bump, which I find very cool. The design bump gives the A95 a modern and premium look. It doesn’t even wobble when you place it down.

The OPPO A95 is an impressive contender that is worth checking out. It’s available right now in Shopee and Lazada for P15,999.
