Laguna lifts liquor ban

LAGUNA – The provincial government lifted the liquor ban on Monday (Feb. 21) as coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases continue to drop.

The local government unit (LGU) implemented a liquor ban on Jan. 6 as part of the measures to curb the spread of COVID-19 during the Omicron variant surge at the start of 2022.

With the liquor ban lifted, establishments are now allowed to serve alcoholic drinks, provided that they observe minimum health protocols and only accommodate vaccinated individuals.

Gov. Ramil Hernandez reminded establishments that the sale of liquor to minors and the consumption of alcoholic drinks in public places are still prohibited in the province.
