Bongbong, Sara bring message of unity to Pampanga

Presidential candidate, former senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and his running mate, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio have urged local officials in Pampanga to join their call for unity ahead of the May 2022 elections.

This came after the frontrunning tandem attended the birthday celebration of Pampanga Vice Governor Lilian Pineda on Monday, Feb. 21, in an event that was attended by the heavyweights of Philippine politics. These included former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and incumbent and aspiring senators, as well as provincial officials.

In a press release Tuesday, Feb. 22, Marcos Jr.'s camp said that as per the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) standard-bearer, their unification campaign is already spreading. It said that it has already manifested in the areas that they go to.

That was why his partner, Duterte-Carpio, called on the attendees to join their call for unity, which they believe, without going into details, would address the various problems of the country.

"Paano ito masisimulan? Kapag tayo pong lahat ay magkakaisa (How will we start it? By uniting)," Marcos Jr.'s camp quoted the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) vice presidential bet as saying.

"Simulan po natin sa pagbalik ng trabaho na nawala dahil sa pandemya. Pangalawa ang pagpapatuloy ng reporma na nasimulan ni Pangulong Duterte, particularly the 'Build, Build, Build' project o infrastructure development spending ng ating bansa, at ‘yung pagsugpo sa krimen at ilegal na droga sa ating komunidad (Let's bring back jobs to those who lost it during pandemic. Next, we will continue the reforms started by President Duterte, particularly the 'Build, Build, Build' and other infrastructure projects; and eradicating crime and illegal drugs from, our communities)," she also said.
