Online Forum on Beijing Olympics set to happen on Feb 22

The Chinese Embassy in the Philippines, together with the Philippine Silk Road International Chamber of Commerce, will jointly hold an online forum with the theme "A Memorable Winter Olympics" on February 22, 2022 at 3:00PM (Manila time). Members of the Philippine delegation are invited to share their personal experiences in participating in the Winter Olympics in Beijing, China and to provide guests with insights on this spectacular occasion. The online event will also include special messages from top government officials and private organizations. This significant activity also aims to highlight the future of cooperation and partnerships between the Philippines and China.

The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, which runs from February 4-20, 2022 is the firstinternational multi-sport event to be held as scheduled since the outbreak of theCOVID-19 pandemic. It is a successful practice of the new Olympic motto - "Faster, Higher, Stronger – Together."

As Chinese President Xi Jinping said, the notion of "Together," championed by the Olympic Movement, is needed now more than ever and will encourage the world to create a brighter future.

Participating in Olympic games fosters good sportsmanship, friendly competition, and unity among the different participating nations. By means of sports, country representatives are able to relay the message of peace to the entire world as nations gather in one arena to exemplify the Olympic spirit of mutual understanding, friendship, solidarity, and fair play. Olympic events shall further attract tourism and trade which in turn can boost local economies.
