"Caritas Philippines and the Social Action Network will do our biggest friend-raising to date to raise P400 million to build brand new houses and provide livelihood packages to more than 11,000 families in eleven dioceses severely devastated by #OdettePH," Caritas said in a Facebook post.

Kidapawan Bishop Jose Colin Bagaforo, Caritas Philippines national director, appealed to the faithful to support the project.

"We are asking for your cooperation in this new project," he said.

In December 2021, Caritas Philippines also launched an appeal to help the communities devastated by typhoon Odette that claimed dozens of lives.

Fr. Antonio Labiao, the national Caritas’ executive secretary, said many dioceses in the Visayas and Mindanao regions were “devastated” by the typhoon.

“They need shelter materials, food, water and medicines urgently. That is why we are appealing for your help,” he said.
