Kapuso reel couples share thoughts on respective partners

This love month, GMA is introducing five sweethearts meant to brighten up your TV viewing.

The five young and cute love teams are composed of Kyline Alcantara and Mavy Legaspi, Sofia Pablo and Allen Ansay, Althea Ablan and Bruce Roeland, Shayne Sava and Abdul Raman, and Zonia Mejia and Jamir Zabarte.

During a recent virtual press conference, the stars talked about what makes their respective tandem special and the qualities they see in each other that make each of them either boyfriend and girlfriend material.

According to Mavy, it is their bond that makes his relationship with Kyline "special."

He noted how they had been friends for the longest time.

"We've been through a lot like every youthful relationship," he related.

As for Kyline, she likes how "genuine" they are as a tandem.

She also pointed out the importance of "authenticity" and how their relationship is founded on good friendship.

Mavy related how important for him that Kyline is a good listener, which he sees as girlfriend-material trait.

He likes it also that Kyline is a good listener.

"It takes a lot to be a listener. And she really take in every emotion and feeling that she received from me. When she returns it to me, it's two folds," Mavy said, reiterating that it comforts him and makes him feel better.

Kyline, on the other hand, shared two important things she likes about Mavy.

First is how respectful the son of Carmina Villaroel and Zoren Legaspi is, particularly to her parents.

The second is the fact that Mavy is always there for her.

"Sa bawat phases ng aking napaka complicated journey, andun po talaga sya," she said.

Sofia and Allen, on the other hand, are each other's respective teachers especially as they were raised differently, with the former being a Manileña while the latter grew up a simple probinsyano.

They're also both family-oriented.

As for what they love the most about each other, Allen likes Sofia's "chillness."

"Pag nakilala ng tao si Sofia sa personal, kung anong nakikita sa social media, hindi siya ganun," he said relating to how the latter dress up.

Sofia, meanwhile, appreciates the "love" that Allen gives her mom.

She revealed Allen would always second her mother's notion especially when she needs some lecturing doing some mistakes.

In terms of Althea and Bruce's relationship, they actually believe the saying that "opposites attract."

Althea is a bubbly girl, while Bruce is the serious type.

But because of their different perspectives, every time they're together, they discover something new about each other. Which makes things more exciting for them as love team partners.

Althea related how Bruce fits the characteristics she's looking for in a boyfriend.

"I've always wanted a guy na bad boy looking pero with good personality. And a guy who inspires me to be a better version of myself," she said, adding Bruce has it all, pointing out how much of a "gentleman" the latter is.

Bruce on his part, shared how caring Althea is, which makes her stand out more, he reiterated.

"Gusto ko sa GF, she's there for you even through tough times," he related, then declaring that Althea is always there for him.

Comfortable. This is how Shayne and Abdul described their relationship.

The reel couple said they actually feel like they've known each other for so long.

Whenever they are together, there is never a dull moment despite their differences.

"Para kami nasa magkabilang dulo ng spectrum but nag compliment with each other," Shayne said, relating that Abdul is the more serious type while she's the one who's always there to always lift him up.

And Abdul couldn't agree more, sharing how he has this tendency to be harsh on himself but Shayne is always there to calm him down and tell him that everything will be okay.

More than anything, Shayne loves how "thoughtful" Abdul is.

According to her, he would always check up on her whereabouts and such, particularly on her bad days.

And even the smallest things matter to Abdul, she reiterated.

"Alam niya ano yung mga kailangan ko para sumaya ako."

And the same goes for Shayne.

Abdul attested how the latter knows how to comfort him as well, particularly when it comes to his emotional state.

He admitted getting quickly burned out and overwhelmed, but once he talks to Shayne everything feels fine as the latter knows her way around him.

"I find that really comforting na there's someone who understands me on a deeper level. Nobody else knows me as much as Shayne does."

As for Zonia and Jamir, they could relate to each other.

They actually share everything whether little successes or huge failures.

And Zonia thinks it's their "best bond" because they're honest with each other.

Jamir added their constant communication also helped them have a stronger relationship.

In terms of boyfriend or girlfriend material aspect, the "conservative" Zonia shared how Jamir is so "protective" especially when it comes to her having a "safe" wardrobe.

Jamir, on the other hand, applauded how Zonia is such an attentive listener.

"Kahit walang sense, andiyan suya para makinig and no judgement."
