Duterte appoints 20 more trial court judges

Twenty more trial court judges have been appointed by President Duterte.

Their appointment papers were received last Thursday, Feb. 17, by Chief Justice Alexander G. Gesmundo.

Appointed judges were Janalyn B. Gainza Tang, regional trial court (RTC) Branch 11, Balayan, Batangas; Maria Concepcion M. Serrano Altea, RTC Branch 12 Lipa City; Pamela T. Chavez Izon, RTC Branch 13, Lipa City; Maricel M. Magpantay Ng, RTC Branch 58, Lucena City; Donald S. Uy, RTC Branch 64, Mauban, Quezon; Mohammad Aquil A. Tamano, RTC Branch 77, San Mateo, Rizal;

Michelle L. Hortiz Abarintos, municipal circuit trial court (MCTC), Malvar-Balete, Batangas; Beverly Elvy B. De Mesa, municipal trial court (MTC), Nasugbu, Batangas; Bernadette V. Early this February, the President also appointed 21 trial court judges for various posts in Luzon.

Last January, the President appointed five associate justices of the Court of Appeals.

Appointed were Associate Justices Ana Marie Train Mas, Maximo M. De Leon, Jacinto Gavino Fajardo Jr., Jennifer Joy Chua Ong, and Michael P. Ong.

Mas, De Leon, and Fajardo were former RTC judges, while Chua Ong and Ong were executives at the Office of the President.
