A “fair and warm weather” condition may prevail in most parts of the country over the next 24 hours, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Thursday, Feb. 17.

“Kasalukuyan ay maganda at maaliwalas na panahon ang nararanasan sa malaking bahagi ng bansa. Ang northeast monsoon ay umaabot lamang sa northern Luzon kaya sa malaking bahagi ng ating bansa, kasama ang Metro Manila, asahan po natin ang medyo mainit na panahon ngayong araw (Currently, fair weather condition prevails in most parts of the country. The northeast monsoon only reaches northern Luzon, that is why a huge portion of the country, including Metro Manila, may experience a warm and humid weather today),” said PAGASA weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio in a public weather forecast.
The northeast monsoon, locally called “amihan,” may bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains in Cagayan Valley, Ilocos Region, and Cordillera Administrative Region in the next 24 hours.
Meanwhile, a “warm and humid” weather condition, aside from a slight chance of isolated rains, may prevail in Metro Manila and the rest of the country due to the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.
Residents of the areas affected by the easterlies and localized thunderstorms were warned against possible flash floods and landslides during severe thunderstorms.
“Wala po tayong binabantayan na low pressure area (LPA) o bagyo sa loob at sa labas ng ating Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) (We are not monitoring any LPA or tropical cycline inside and outside PAR),” Aurelio added.
