A Catholic prelate has warned the public against a group called Order of Apostolican Missionaries (OAM).

In a letter issued Feb. 14, Cagayan de Oro Archbishop Jose A. Cabantan said the group has been roaming around the city "unscrupulously soliciting funds or donations for evangelization works and outreach programs for their 'religious community.'"
The prelate said upon verification
with the Catholic Directory of the Philippines and the Chancery Office of Malaybalay "such group does not exist."
"It may have carried the name 'Catholic' but it is not in any way connected with us," said Cabantan.
"I cautioned all the faithful to please exercise extra vigilance against this bogus group," he added.
Cabantan asked the public to report similar incidents to their chancery office.
