In her speech at the Dinggoy Roxas Civic Center in Roxas City, a known bailiwick of the Liberal Party (LP) that she continues to chair despite running as an independent candidate, Robredo talked about her Angat Buhay programs for the people of Capiz.

The lone female presidential candidate for the May 2022 polls worked with fisherfolk, farmers, and many others for various livelihood assistance programs.

“Ano 'yung resibo namin? Noong tinulungan namin kayo, noong tinulungan niyo ako noong 2016, hindi po ako nakalimot sa inyo (What is our receipt? When we helped you, when you helped me last 2016, I did not forget about you),” she said.

The Vice President warned that candidates will promise all kinds of things during elections, but voters should be wary of these empty promises.

“Okay naman pong pakinggan 'yun pero ako po, parati kong sinasabi, dapat madala na tayo doon sa mga kandidato na naaalala lang tayo tuwing eleksyon (It’s okay to listen to them but for me, I always say that we should grow tired of candidates who will only remember us every elections),” she added.

Robredo asked the audience, composed of volunteer groups and different sectors including barangay health workers, to unite in fighting against misinformation and disinformation.

“Ang pinakaayaw po nating mangyari na ang eleksyon madedesisyunan dahil sa paniniwala sa kasinungalingan. Meron pa pong oras, pero hindi po namin ito kakayanin kung hindi po kayo makikipaglaban sa katabi namin (The worst thing that we don’t want to happen is for the elections to be decided by lies. There is still time, but we cannot do it if you are not with us in this fight),” she said.

Aside from Robredo, her running mate Sen. Francis 'Kiko' Pangilinan and senatorial candidates—lawyer Alex Lacson and reelectionist Senator Richard 'Dick' Gordon—were also present.

Former Magdalo Rep. Gary Alejano was also there to represent former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, who is running under the Robredo-Pangilinan ticket, as well as Dino De Leon, the representative of detained Senator Leila de Lima.

During her visit to Roxas City, the Vice President met with Monsignor Cyril “Jojo” Villareal and the members of the Clergy of the Archdiocese of Capiz, who prayed over her.

Pink-clad supporters lined up the street during Robredo’s motorcade to express their support for her presidential bid.

She said despite the lack of resources and machinery, she and Pangilinan drew courage from their supporters.

Robredo also attended the convention of Capiz Robredo People’s Council and municipal coordinators and had a private meeting with Capiz local government unit (LGU) officials.
